Mid Continent Orthodontics, founded by Dr. Harry Green, is a continuing dental/orthodontic education organization dedicated to providing high quality orthodontic education to general dentists and pedodontists. It all starts with the initial course which is a basic, intermediate and advanced course all in one…depending on your particular level and ability in processing the information. Returning the next year for any or all the sessions is important…to review the details that seemed unimportant at the time and to confirm the technique in your own mind. The optional second year is monitored, at no charge, when students have more cases in treatment. Education continues with optional two day Annual Refresher programs and assistant courses to keep quality and knowledge at the highest level. Student online help is always available from Dr. Green and/or the other instructors from the courses. Mid Continent Orthodontics is designated as an Approved Pace Program provider by the Academy of General Dentistry. The formal continuing education programs of this program provider are accepted by AGD for Fellowship, Mastership and membership maintenance credit.
Dr. Green will be teaching the Tip-Edge System® (Differential Straight Arch Technique™). This Edgewise type bracket affords all the advantages of light wire orthodontics combined with the control of conventional edgewise. The theory of light forces has been around for over 50 years but only recently has been able to be realized to full potential. In 1986, Dr. Peter Kesling of La Porte, Indiana, utilizing his father's and his vast experience with both types of tooth movement, developed the Tip-Edge® bracket. This resulted in an orthodontic technique that is faster, more effective, and qualitatively more patient and clinician friendly than any technique presently available. The straightforward design of this system, combined with its efficiency and ease of implementation has made The Tip-Edge System® the fastest growing technique in the world today.
